ACT Vet

Swansea University | GREAT Network | MilGAM | Office for Veteran's Affairs

Did you know? Veterans are 11 times more likely to experience gambling difficulties compared to non-veterans. Act Vet, a comprehensive project executed for Swansea University, focuses on acceptance and commitment therapy to support veterans battling gambling addiction. This transformative support system involved brand identity design, UI/UX design for a new app, over 100 unique illustrations, and social media templates.

 

​The project was developed in collaboration with the Gambling Research, Education, and Treatment (GREAT) Network, funded by Health and Care Research Wales. The GREAT Network promotes research, education, and treatment to address gambling-related harm among military veterans, informed by research and direct input from veterans to ensure accessible, veteran-tailored gambling support.​

I led the design of the brand identity, created UI/UX wireframes for a new app, and produced over 100 illustrations, social media templates, and digital assets. This project required a deep understanding of the visual and cognitive needs of veterans, including those with combat injuries, PTSD, anxiety, and gambling addiction, ensuring sensitive and effective designs.

Act Vet addressed the urgent need for gambling support among veterans, leveraging research-driven insights and inclusive design principles to create a meaningful impact. The project provided targeted support for gambling addiction and considered the broader mental health challenges faced by veterans.

DRINKS RATION

King’s Centre for Military Health Research | Combat Stress | Lancaster University

DrinksRation is a groundbreaking smartphone application created to assist the Armed Forces Community in effectively managing, monitoring, and reducing alcohol consumption.

 

Supported by thorough research conducted by King's College London, it is the only scientifically validated solution of its kind.

Otter Lunn Creative played a pivotal role in this venture by revamping the brand identity, enhancing the app's visuals, creating distinctive drink icons, and crafting engaging social media posts.

 

This collaborative effort aimed to ensure that DrinksRation's image and communication materials effectively conveyed its importance and innovation to its target audience.
