Overview
Nonna Juana is an independent deli bringing together the bold flavours of South America and the Mediterranean. I was commissioned to create a distinct visual identity that reflected the warmth, care, and authenticity behind their food.
The project covered logo design, colour palette, menu layout, and packaging — all crafted to communicate quality and approachability while celebrating cultural fusion.
The Challenge
The goal was to create an identity that stood out in a crowded food market while remaining true to Nonna Juana’s story. The brand needed to feel authentic, welcoming, and easy to navigate, with designs that worked seamlessly across menus, packaging, and in-store displays.
The new designs needed to:
Reflect the fusion of South American and Mediterranean influences
Feel approachable and community-driven
Present menus clearly and accessibly
Maintain consistency across all branded materials
Convey care, warmth, and authenticity
Strategy and Creative Direction
The design direction focused on simplicity, warmth, and honesty, mirroring the care put into every dish.
Logo: Clean and adaptable, designed to feel handcrafted yet modern.
Colour palette: Inspired by natural ingredients and Mediterranean tones to convey freshness and comfort.
Typography and layout: Simple, readable, and structured to make menus and packaging clear and inviting.
The final outcome created a cohesive, professional brand that highlights Nonna Juana’s unique blend of heritage, flavour, and hospitality.
