One Step Closer was an event branding project for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, designed to support fundraising for innovative treatments and care for seriously ill children.
The event’s purpose was to inspire community participation and celebrate collective effort, and the brand identity needed to reflect hope, energy, and compassion.
The Challenge
The main challenge was to create a fundraising identity that felt exciting and uplifting without losing the emotional sincerity of the cause. It needed to unite donors, participants, and hospital supporters under a shared purpose.
The new designs needed to:

The design direction focused on movement, positivity, and togetherness.
Logo and icon: Representing progress and unity.
Colour palette: Bright and optimistic, evoking energy and hope.
Typography: Modern, approachable, and easy to use across campaign materials.
The final design gave the event a cohesive, recognisable identity that inspired engagement and conveyed the heartfelt mission behind the cause.
